Alt Country - Americana

Americana is the crossroads for country, folk & bluegrass music. It grew out of the American songwriting tradition and has become a genuine sound and genre of its own grounded in roots music. The most exciting and unique thing about Americana is the breadth of music hybrids that it encompasses -Americana continues to absorb new sounds and can't be put into any one musical box. It is the evolution of revolution in an American music tradition. Artists include Tom Russell, Lucinda Williams, Justin Townes Earle and Carrie Rodriguez.
